Philosophical Concept: “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

God is eternal (imprimatur)

When God speaks to us it is towards the end of a thing that we might have life and have life abundantly.

I. THEME: THE WORD OF LIFE 

1 John 1-3

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

II. Authors Background:

John saw, bore witness to Christ, the Disciple of Love (3:16)

1. Among original twelve disciples.
2. Peter and James, John was considered a member of Jesus’ inner circle was at the foot of the cross during Jesus’ crucifixion,
3. Jesus gave John the responsibility to care for his mother Mary
4. John laid his head upon Jesus’ bosom
5. referred to as “the disciple whom Jesus loved”
6. John was the only one out of Jesus’ disciples to die of old age. “According to tradition, John out lived the other disciples and died near the turn of the century. Irenaeus reports that, when John became too weak to walk, he was carried to church meetings. There he whispered, again and again, ‘Little children, love one another.’”[1]

Like John’s Gospel I John deals with beginnings

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

III. Something went wrong in the beginning?

 

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (Gen 1:1-2).

CONCLUSION: THE GAP THEORY in twenty seconds

Lucifer’s brief futile ploy led to the dismemberment from his position Heaven (Is 14:12-14). Jesus said, “I beheld Satan as Lightening fall from Heaven” (Luke 10:18). I believe afterward “and earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep” (Gen 1:2a).

 

Speech that goes forth out of the mouth (Is 55:11).

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

 

It is implied that something happened after God created the Heaven and the Earth,

6 By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. (Ps 33:6)

 

 God spoke this word in my spirit: Stratify, upward with a sub text When God speaks to it is towards the end of a thing.

IV. The topic of this message is:

 

THE WORD: Stratify (Contrasted with strategy)

• Sounds like strategy these are two different words.
• While God Given Strategies are good, our concentration is  
• a transitive verb (means it is a action word)

 

Farming/Seed Application

• To preserve (seeds) by placing them between layers of moist sand or similar material.

 

• The Word of Life is the Seed that I believe God is saying to sow upward in stratifications to yield an optima crop.

 

The Principle set by God is,

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22).

Stratification:

 

1.  Is a Farming Term, that is applied in the process of growing trees, which naturally occurs when seeds drop on the forest floor in the Fall. The seed’s thick, durable shell protects the plant’s embryo. They lay dormant in the Winter and germinate in the Spring. Over the winter, the hard outer coating of the seed gradually softens, allowing the seed to absorb water and finally to germinate and sprout when temperatures increase in spring.

 

This process when applied to the Word of God allows one to be a catalysis; in own progress. towards the end of the promises of God

(i.e row of trees verses this or that).

6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good (Ecc 11:6).

 

Stratify, upward When God speaks to it is towards the end of a thing.

1. Requires an Incubation period:

 

Of the Word of Life which is given to us, it is like a seed. This seed like the mustard tree has great potential but must lay dormant and endure changes (hupo-meno, remain-under) in its environment before it is germinated or becomes productive.

V. Dormancy

In Nature

Red oak acorns exhibit dormancy. Dormancy means that seeds will germinate slowly or not at all unless subjected to cool, moist conditions for a period of time. Breaking this dormancy through a process known as “stratification” is done by simulating the natural conditions found on the forest floor over winter.

 

When God has deposited something into you there comes a time that you must stand still enter Gods rest.

 

Exodus 14:13 exhorts God’s seed to Stand Still…

“Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord” (Ex 14:13).

 

While, I never read in the Bible God helps those who help themselves this is principally true in the light of most dilemmas

 

Everything you desire is already inside you but in order for it to manifest it must go under certain conditions

 

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread” (Psalms 37:25).

VI. Germination

After germination ones roots begin the grip the soil and grow upward until fruit is borne.

The Holy Seed Christ first descended into the lower parts of the earth then ascended before he supplied gifts unto his body.

 Christ Application Ephesians 4:4-15

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

“Wherefore he saith,

When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

 

Having a tender heart is attractive to God. In this environment the fruit of the spirit can grow and hidden attributes soon become a benefit to all mankind as …

 

To Stratify upward is not merely moving upward but it is to first be exposed to adverse elements then a descent and afterward you move upward and bear fruit.

VII. Progressive Stratifications

The essence of church translated from ecclesia “called out” as Abram separated himself from his kin; to become the Father of the faithful. Judah was separated from his brethren to bring forth a Messiah and Mary was separated to become the Mother of Christ. These progressive stratifications brought forth the Word of Life.

 

Biblical Account

Luke 3:23,38 (40 Generations of Startifications)

 (23) And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli,

(38) Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.

 

Stratification always involves Sanctification (the separation placed into a specific arransement in order to produce fruit)

 

In salvation sanctification comes after converstion, tlike in stratification the seed must be changed first.

Sanctification means to set apart from that which is unclean.

This change is required to make gains in Christ it may be uncomfortable

Also stratification requires effort and courage. It may require you to be ridiculed and you must stick to your guns knowing that which God called you will come to pass.

VIII. The Word of Life Came in the Volume of the Book

OT “Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me” (Psalms 40:7)

 

NT “Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God (Hebrew 10:7).”

 

Christ primarily purpose was to destroy the work of the devil your salvation was just a by product and the job done by the saint is reasonable service. However the measure in which we perform we gather and heap accolades that shall be tried by fire.
